New Zealand

I spent a month in February 1997 backpacking around New Zealand. New Zealand is a beautiful country, the same size as the UK, but with less than 1/10 of the population of the UK. The country has so many diverse things to see such as glaciers, dolphins, seals, thermal pools, mountains, lakes and rivers.

I wanted to make the most of my time, so I toured the islands on a backpackers tour bus. I had a go at lots of activities including rap jumping, bungee jumping, white water rafting and canoeing plus I went up in a helicopter and out on a jet boat and had a fantastic time.

New Zealand is definitely worth a visit.
